Taken from Aromatherapy World, Distillation 1999 journal of the International Society of Professional Aromatherapists. This book is not only informative and interesting, but is also an important addition to the therapist's library. Like all good text books it helps us all to be more aware of what we don't know and give us an appetite for learning more.
I recommend the book to you, the only problem being that once you start reading it, you will not be able to put it down!
About the author
Len Price has a great interest in essential oils and devotes all his working life to the study of their properties, safety aspects and relevant research in this field. He is co-author (with Shirley Price) of the well-respected book Aromatherapy for Health Professionals and was the sole author of previous editions of Carrier Oils for Aromatherapy. As well as being a qualified aromatherapist and a Fellow of the International Society of Professional Aromatherapists, which he helped to found, Len Price was instrumental in the development of aromatology (Aromatic Medicine) as a specific branch of aromatherapy and, together with Shirley Price, ran a world renowned aromatherapy training and products organisation for nearly twenty years.
Len gratefully acknowledges the support and help received from Ian Smith and Shirley Price in the writing of this book.
Ian Smith is a professional chemist, a well respected teacher of the chemistry of essential oils and carrier oils and has made valuable contributions to the book in this area.
Shirley Price is one of the world leaders in aromatherapy who has authored seven books on aromatherapy which regularly feature in the best selling lists and has taught aromatherapy for a quarter of a century.
